About Cam Suber
Cam Suber is an Atlanta bred emerging jazz saxophonist. His artistic journey started in 5th grade with the Atlanta Music Project playing clarinet under the instruction of Enrique Saucedo. After a stint in the North Springs Charter High School music program Cam moved on to Interlochen Arts Academy from which he matriculated in 2023.
Cam has participated in Jazz at Lincoln Center Summer Jazz Academy and NYU Steinhardt Summer Program. He was selected for the 2023 class of NYO Jazz where he performed at Carnegie Hall, Festival Da Jazz in St. Moritz, Switzerland and for the BBC Proms at London’s King Albert Hall. Additionally he is a 2023 Young Arts winner.
He has performed with Hamilton’s Sydney Harcourt, Patrice Rushen, Billy Childs, Sean Jones, Orrin Evans, Kebbi Williams, Joshua Lawrence, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Stacy Dillard, Summer Carmargo, Kevin Oliver, Gordon Vernick and many other accomplished musicians and performers.
He has studied under the tutelage of Alex Silver, Bill Sears, Marcus Elliott, Brian Conger, Tivon Pennicott, Dayna Stephens and Joshua Lawrence.
You can catch him performing at Atlanta’s Red Light Cafe and Handlebar and he’s also performed at Chris’ Jazz Cafe in Philadelphia and Smalls Jazz Club in New York City and is inspired by Sonny Rollins, Joe Henderson, Lester Young and Dayna Stephens. He attends Berklee School of Music in Boston, Massachusetts where he’s a member of the Nicholas Payton Ensemble. Stay tuned to see where Cam lands next.
